Gerçekliğin Gerçeği - The Truth of Reality
Bir simülasyonda mı yaşıyoruz, ya da Platon'un mağara benzetmesindeki gibi bu dünya, düşüncelerden mi ibarettir? Fotoğraflardaki yansımalar gerçeklerin izdüşümleri ise, yansımalar gerçeği yansıtır mı? Fotoğraf zaten gerçeğin bir taklidi ise, kopyanın kopyasından mutlak gerçeğe ulaşılabilir mi? O halde, gerçek, hak, hakikat, asıl, reel gibi pek çok ifadesi olan gerçeklik nerede başlar? Gerçeği, idrak etmek isteyenlere evren sunmaktadır; gerçekliği sadece maddeye hapsetmek yanılgı olacaktır ki gün gibi aşikardır. Gerçekliğin mana tarafı da vardır. Sanat, bu manaya bakan sadece bir yöndür. En temelde bu mana yönü ile ilişkili, insan idrakinin kapasitesini aşan bir nokta vardır. Bu projeyi insanın en temel arayışlarından biri olan varlık ve gerçeklik üzerine inşa etmeye çalıştım. Yansıma fotoğraflarımı dikey düzlemde çevirerek gerçekte nasıl görünüyorlarsa öyle ürettim. O anda gerçeklerini yansıtan bu fotoğraflar, gerçeğin birer taklididirler. O anda oradadırlar ancak tam olarak gerçekler gibi değillerdir; gerçekler dönüşebilse de yansımalar (örneğin onların fotoğrafını çekmezsem) kaybolur.
Are we living in a simulation or, is this world made up of thoughts, as in Plato's cave analogy? If the reflections in the photographs are projections of reality, do the reflections reflect reality? If photography is already an imitation of reality, can absolute truth be achieved from a copy of a copy? So, where does reality begin, which has many expressions such as truth, true, absolute, original, real? The universe offers the truth to those who want to understand it; It would be a mistake to confine reality to matter only, it is clear as black and white. Reality also has a meaning side. Art is an only direction that looks at this meaning side. Essentially, there is a point related to this aspect of meaning that exceeds the capacity of human comprehension. This, in my belief, is the first cause; It is the entity of the Almighty Creator.
I tried to build this project on existence and reality which are one of the most basic searches of humanity. I flipped my reflection photos in a vertical plane to produce them as they actually look. These photographs, which reflect reality at that moment, are imitations of reality. They are there in the moment, but they are not exactly like reality; Even though the reality may transforms, the reflections (for example if I don't take a photo of them) disappear.
